Oatmeal and Talullah

Oatmeal and Talullah are an adorable boy-girl kitten pair available for adoption. Oatmeal is a black-and-white boy with gorgeous light green eyes and Talullah is a grey-and-white lovely girl with one yellow and one blue eye! Together they have matching mismatchings!

Oatmeal is an extremely relaxed and calm boy who will enjoy hours of cuddling. He's also very playful. Talullah is a sweet girl who is what we call "hand-shy." That is, she will shy away from your hand if you reach out for her. If allowed her own way, she'll come sit with you and purr. She has supersoft fur.

Talullah and Oatmeal are both darling kittehs; they need a home together with owners who are willing to give Talullah quiet time to adjust and blossom. She is absolutely not aggressive, just nervous. See also Talullah and Oatmeal.

Together these two are a wonderful pair! They are waiting for a loving forever home.

Talullah as a forever kitty

Talullah was my very own foster kitty ... I had her from March until right before Rosh Hashanah (several weeks ago). In my home she went from being a kitten to being a cat. Even though she is so beautiful and funny, no potential adopters showed any interest in her at all.

Then the right adopter came along. Julie's older cat had recently died and her younger cat needed a playmate. Julie understood the special needs of the shy cat and even though Talullah was not particularly cooperative on Julie's first visit ... Julie took her home. It was a bittersweet day in our household.

Julie writes that "Tallulah adjusted very quickly to our home! Within the first week she was out and about and investigating new lounging spots and our other cat, Ernie. After almost a month, "Lulah" and Ernie are the best of friends. They chase each other through the house sounding like elephants, nap together, and wrestle and groom each other too.

Tallulah is also a big softie for belly rubs and chin scratches, and has become a lot less shy around hands - we can usually reach down to pet her and after an initial jump she'll sniff fingers and then purr LOUDLY for a back scratch. She goes crazy for catnip and loves the laser pointer... We are so happy that we can give her a forever home! Thanks to her fostermom for keeping her with love for so long until we found her :)"

Talullah
Born outside to a feral mom in the (former) Battlestar Galactica colony site. Talullah is my foster kitten. She is shy to strangers but at night she sits with me on the couch and we have long snuggling and kissing sessions. She is delicious.

Born and raised outside in Woodlawn. Like Talullah, will never be the kitty to enjoy a party of strangers, but will give her companion person all the love and loyalty in her sweet kitty heart.

Pit bull awareness month

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month.


This is my pitbull (mix), Latke, with my most recent fostercat, Talullah. Talullah was just adopted! She's in a wonderful home with somebody who really loves and understands her.

Latke came to me through Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue. Many other pitties, pibbos, and mixes are available.

Otho

What a great email I received:

Dear Hyde Park Cats,

A few weeks ago a loud mewing interrupted a night of TV watching. A can of tuna and a lot of coaxing later we finally got Otho out from under a car near the Kimbark Plaza. He was pretty oily at the time but he has cleaned up really well and now can't stand to be away from his human parents (his photo is below). Otho received a clean bill of health from the vet and will be returning later in the summer to be fixed. After looking at your website we found that Otho wasn't the only Roman Emperor in the neighborhood (Nero made us smile). We will be on the look out for any mamma cats or kittens in the area and you will be the first people we call if we find others.
