Long-term foster week: Domino

It's DOMINO's turn to be featured during long-term foster week. Domino came to us from a high-kill animal control facility with a bleeding wound but is now fit and maybe a little fat. More about Domino.

Fostermom Claire says that "Domino is a very very cool and easy-going kitty, not shy at all, social, very playful and affectionate. He loves sleeping, stretching, being brushed, pet on his belly, getting massages, enjoying his cat-scratcher, eating ham (ham is heaven), observing birds, playing "hide and seek" behind doors (see video) but most of all: watching at the window... he is in love with our neighbor's orange kitty. He can see her sometimes sitting at the opposite window ... so romantic!"

Domino came to us from NW Indiana. We work with a volunteer at a high-kill city impound which does not do any veterinary work or adoptions. The animals in there have two options: be "pulled" by a rescue organization or be euthanized. While our primary mission is to help the cats found on the streets around our neighborhood, when we have a fosterhome open, if this volunteer in IN calls, we extend our boundaries! Domino here came into the impound as a stray (picked up by Animal Control). He had a bleeding wound on one paw. Luckily Claire and Olivier's loving fosterhome was open (because Rigoli had just been adopted), so the IN folks transported Domino to Hyde Park Animal Clinic, where he received veterinary care for his bleeding, abcessed wound. Claire and Olivier changed his bandages and gave him his meds, and now he is just fine and ready for adoption. Merci, Claire et Olivier. Now...you should adopt Domino if you want a cat who:

wears your favorite numbers: 2 on one side, 3 on the other

is super friendly and an extrovert

Adoption update

Domino found a furrever home! Congratulations Domino and his new dad (and former catsitter) Steve, and merci to fosterparents Claire and Olivier for all your loving care. Their other fostercat Polly also found a home recently!

Domino

Domino is an adult male, estimated 2 or 3 years old. He's a stray who started hanging out with the feral cats in the neighborhood, although we've been unable to find previous owners. He is now neutered, vaccinated, and FIV and FeLV free. He had a huge wound on his tail when found, but it's healing nicely (he's now out of the cone and bandage).

He's pretty much a dog stuck in a cat body - very affectionate and talkative. Adoption fee is $50. Domino is not a Hyde Park Cat - we are posting him as a referral for his finder - please contact dea.sweeney@gmail.com if you are interested.

Pudgy kitties

Thanks to Megan and to Aw Yeah Pudgy Kitties! for posting two of our chubby adoptables, Domino and Buckley.

Yes, this is a tumblr dedicated to catpudge. And look who's pudgy now! It's Sophie ... yes that's right ... SKINNYMOM is a pudgy cat now. This makes us so satisfied and happy--Skinnymom is pudgy!

And also thanks to Danna, who was Sophie's original fostermom. Danna is finishing her studies in Hyde Park and selling her stuff--and just donated her earnings. Thanks for the donation, Danna, but more than that, purrs and biscuits for and from all the cats and kittens you have personally helped save from death or a life on the streets.
