CTA CAT

This face with the big eyes was brought to AWL by a CTA worker. Apparently this kitty had been living at a CTA depot (no specifics) and being taken care of by at least one worker there. A manager insisted she be removed. The worker brought kitty to AWL in tears. I wish we could find this woman and let her know that this pretty kitty is now in a loving fosterhome, where her Fosterboy has named her Kalla -- bride -- for her lovely white coat. She is very calm, very friendly, one of those cats who is hard to photograph because if you get any closer she wants you to touch her. She is very very cuddly and affectionate and has a sheep-like meh instead of a meow.

Poor CTA worker is probably TORTURED just wondering. What an unimaginative manager; CTA CAT could do little harm in a depot and probably improve the place immeasurably.

Fosterboy YOU have great imagination with the name Kalla. Its perfect!

I agree - a pretty name for such a pretty cat. Maybe next time we're at a CTA station we should ask the staff there if any of their co-workers love cats ...

God forbid the CTA should have someone around who will kill rats. Probably pissed off the exterminator who's cousin got him a plum contract with the city.

The RTA doesn't seem to have a problem with cats in general. The Millennium Station depot for Metra Electric has a loooong underground platform and when you're riding in or out, check out the west side. There's an office and some bike racks down there and all the years I rode this train there were several cats who would hang around by the bike racks/office and there were food and water bowls for them, too. I never saw any rats.

This kitty is beautiful and looks sweet.

Wouldn't the AWL have a record of who dropped the cat off? Do you think AWL would share the info with HPC so that the CTA worker could learn that the cat is on her way to a happy life? If not, perhaps the AWL could pass the info on directly. Just a thought...
