Meet Bacharach. Diane writes that "he has been hanging around the backyard for a couple weeks and now will eat in the day light, has stopped howling like a banshee (banhim?), and stood still for a bit to let me take pictures through the back door."
UPDATE (2:40 pm): Neighbor left door open. Bacharach is currently "crouching under a chair in the laundry room" while a humane trap is fetched.
